Overview EditAfter the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79AD the entire city of Pompeii was completely destroyed by the natural disaster but in the debris and the ash the city and its population have been almost perfectly preserved for thousands of years. One of the more famous and recent discoveries has been of a young boy found near his family. He is estimated to have died at about the age of 4 and was found with 3 other bodies; two adults presumed to be his parents and another male child that is assumed to be his brother. His clothes were so well preserved that they can be seen even through the plaster covering his entire body.
New Research Edit
Through new research methods archaeologists are able to use CT scans to view the bone structure of this little boy. The CT scans are so advanced that the scientists were even able to see the little boys face which appeared to be twisted into a look of shock and fear.
