Found on a gold mining trek in 1932, this tiny mummy were found in a small room beneath a large amount of rock. The room was approximately 4ft x 4ft x 15ft.
After analysis with X-rays, it was found that the mummy was a baby. The baby had a condition known as anencephaly where a large part of the brain does not develop. Children with this condition usually do not survive brith and if so in almost all cases die a short time after. The head was as a result extremely small.
The mummy itself is thought to be around 1700 years old and of Native American ancestry. There was a similar mummy found in the 1990s with the same condition and ethnicity.
